Weights Room

Free Weights

Our free weights area is complete with two sets of dumbbells up to 50kg, a set of fixed barbells up to 45kg and 6 adjustable benches

Platforms

We have recently extended our platform area to include five platform spaces in total, two of which have fixed squat racks and three of which have moveable squat racks to make space for olympic weightlifting. We have six toaster racks with sets of 150kg bumper plates, all of our platforms are equipped with a 15kg and a 20kg wolverson olympic bar.

Lower Body

Fully equipped with the latest nautilus equipment, including hack squat, leg press, glute drive, adductor and abductor, leg extension, lying leg curl, GHD and calf raise

Upper Body

The upper body area contains a smith machine, an incline bench press, two flat bench presses, plate loaded chest press, plate loaded shoulder press, selectorized lateral raise, assisted dip and pullup station and a T-Bar Row.

Cables

With the endless demand for training with cables, we have doubled up on everything with two lat pulldowns, two seated rows, two triceps presses, and four adjustable pulleys, making two cable crossovers as well as two pullup bars.

Core

Our core area provides an open and functional training space, complete with a range of kettlebells, swiss balls, matts, resistance bands, foam rollers and more

Fixed Weights

Complete with 10 Cybex Selectorised machines, including a seated row, incline pull, chest press, shoulder press, pec fly/rear delt, leg press, leg extension, seated leg curl, adductor/abductor and a torso rotation. We also have an adjustable cable, pull-up/leg raise station, and a set of 1kg-10kg dumbbells. The room also includes an open floor space for functional training and a TV

Cardio

Cardio Room

As you enter you’ll find six motorized treadmills, three stairmasters, two cross trainers, two versa-striders, one octane lateral trainer, two watt bikes, two upright bikes and two recumbent bikes. With air conditioning and TV’s displaying Sky Sports.

Further down, the cardio room contains three concept 2 row-ergs, three ski-ergs, two bike-ergs and two assault fitness elite curved treadmills.

Lastly is our air conditioned spinning studio containing 20 schwinn spin bikes, this room is generally open as part of our cardio suite, but is closed off for spin and cycling classes as displayed on our timetable.

Classes

Back to Basics

Back to basics is a class aimed at people recovering from injury, surgery, or wanting to improve their balance and mobility. Primarily a seated exercise class, it teaches people how to use their body to properly walk, stand and balance. Improving strength, mobility, delaying onset arthritis and osteoporosis

Strength & Conditioning

This class is similar to Hyrox but with much more emphasis on the weights training side for muscular strength and endurance.

Strength and Tone

Strength and tone on a Monday involves a full body heavy weights workout, relative to your ability. Learn to safely and effectively lift weights to get stronger, tone up, increase bone density and improve joint stability.

Supersets Circuit

This class involves a circuit with 5 stations each consisting of two exercises that you complete as a superset. The stations consist of full body weights and core exercises.

Intro to Gym

Intro to gym is our weekly induction class, included in green, blue and black membership. It’s an instructor led session where we take you through a full body workout, teaching you to use a variety of gym equipment

Pilates

Pilates is a form of low-impact exercise that focuses on core strength, flexibility, posture, and controlled movement

Yoga

Yoga is a holistic practice that combines physical postures, breath control, meditation, and philosophical teachings to promote overall well-being—body, mind, and spirit

Pure Stretch

Pure Stretch focuses entirely on stretching, mobility, and relaxation combining elements of Pilates and Yoga.

Stretch and Mobility

Stretch and mobility combines dynamic and static stretching to improve overall mobility.

Barre Pilates

Barre Pilates is a workout that combines elements of classical ballet barre exercises and Pilates. It focuses on small, controlled movements, high reps, and isometric holds to build strength, improve posture, and increase flexibility.

Open Gym / Crossfit

On set days, our sportshall is equipped with a range of concept 2 equipment, sleds, sandbags, pullup bars and more. Included in gym membership or day passes

Sports Hall

Walking Football

We offer four walking football sessions each week, with Monday being a mixed session for men and women, Tuesday and Friday are for more competitive players some of which compete in over 50s, 60s and 70s tournaments and Wednesday which is a slower paced session

Walking Rugby

We offer one walking rugby session on a Monday morning straight after walking football, accessible for former players or new players alike

Walking Netball

Walking netball runs three times a week, all sessions are accessible

for new and seasoned players alike. The sessions offer a fun and friendly environment to learn and play netball

5 A Side

Available to book in our 35m by 17.5m sportshall, we offer both single and block bookings available up until 10PM on weekdays and 6PM on weekends.

Cricket Nets

Our sports hall contains two cricket lanes available for use with mats and wickets included, when these lanes are booked it includes the full sports hall. We offer single bookings or block bookings for groups or clubs.

Indoor Cricket

Our sports hall can be hired for indoor cricket games, we have mats and wickets available for use

Volleyball

We have one volleyball court in the middle of the sportshall, with posts and a net included with hire

Netball

We have one netball court available for single or block bookings, this includes netball posts

Unlike most gyms, at Barons there’s no contract, you’re not tied in. Bit busy and need to take a couple of months off? Just let us know and put your payments on hold. Start them up again when you’re ready to come back.
